At just twenty-five, Dame Laura Lee made a decision that would shape the next thirty years of her life. She left the NHS to help bring her then patient, Maggie Keswick Jencks’ vision into reality. What began as a relationship between nurse and patient gradually became something much richer. A thirty-year Capstone for Laura. There was no established organisation, no proven funding model and no certainty that it would succeed. There was simply an idea that felt too important to ignore. Laura still carries the vision and Maggie’s as an organisation is still ‘Marching On’.
